Among the many cheese-based dishes on the refuge's menu, try the famous wood-fired raclette, oven-baked Mont-d'Or PDO or tomato fondue.
After your delicious meal, make your way down on foot or by snowmobile, the choice is yours.
The Refuge de Solalex in summer
In the summer months, the Refuge de Solalex welcomes hikers to relax and take in the stunning views.
From the terrace, gaze out at the majestic Miroir d'Argentine, a towering rock face where climbers often test their skills. It's a sight to behold, especially when a few daring adventurers take on the challenge.
The refuge serves up a range of local delicacies, including cheese specialties, fresh salads, dried meat platters paired with regional cheeses, and indulgent homemade desserts, such as the renowned cream cone.
In autumn, the menu is enriched with a selection of hearty dishes inspired by the hunting season.
Throughout July and August, the refuge hosts local artists, showcasing their work in the rustic sheepfolds surrounding the area.
