The Morges vineyard enjoys protection from the Jura mountain chain, and it also benefits from the thermal regulating effect produced by Lake Geneva. The structure of its wines changes according to the nature of the soil in which they are grown: the gravelly soil in low-lying areas near the water produces very subtle wines, whereas the heavier soils in the upper vineyards that rise towards the Jura foothills give the wines a more pronounced flavour, with floral aromas and fruity notes.
The Morges district produces two wines with registered designations of origin (AOC): La Côte and Les Côtes de l'Orbe. La Côte AOC has four production sites in our district: at Aubonne, Féchy, Morges and Perroy-Allaman.
