In the heart of Pully, less than 10 minutes from Lausanne, the Pully Museum of Art uses its temporary exhibitions to showcase regional creative works. Both contemporary and historic, the paintings, sculptures and photographs exhibited reflect the museum’s focus on local culture.
Since its opening in 1949, this museum has created extensive collections of modern and contemporary works of art, as well as historical exhibits related to the town of Pully. Located next to Ramuz’s family home, the Pully Museum of Art has a collection of work by the famous Swiss writer and its many other treasures include some ten paintings by the native artist, Marius Borgeaud, making it the second biggest collection of this artist’s work after the one in Cantonal Museum of Fine Arts in Lausanne.
With three temporary exhibitions a year, the works are selected and shown from the point of view of a local artist or a common theme. Each exhibition has a regular programme of activities for the public such as guided tours, brunches, themed evenings, conferences, forums and cultural lunch break tours. There are also workshops and tours for children and families especially designed for each age group.
