Christmas markets are livening up Lausanne from November 21 to December 31, 2023. In a festive and friendly atmosphere, buy your gifts, savour local gastronomy products and discover the wines and specialities from the area. And don’t forget the major events with, among others, the Opening Parade, Ferris Wheel, Igloo du Terroir Vaudois, Calèches apéro or fondue, and Village des enfants.
New to this ninth edition:- Bô Noël is back on Place Centrale, now Place des Pionnières, with an ethical and sustainable market, a merry-go-round shaped like a giant fir tree for the younger ones and a 20m-long sledge run that is freely accessible and promises many memorable rides.- The Boutique des Créateur·trices (with more than 30 creators this year) is moving to Place Centrale / des Pionnières into new lodgings made of 7 recycled containers with a bar on the roof.- Bô Noël’s iconic meeting place, the Grand Marché de Saint-François (big Saint-François market) is undergoing a makeover with the installation of a monumental, 15m-high fir tree decorated with giant baubles.- Another lovely surprise for children is an enchanting journey through the city onboard the Bô Noël mini train linking the Flon to the Cité.None of the essential ingredients of Bô Noël will be missing: the opening Big Parade on November 25 at 6 pm, the Ferris Wheel and the Igloo du Terroir Vaudois on Place du Château, the Village des Enfants (children’s village) on the Cathedral Esplanade, the Calèches apéro or fondue (drinks or a fondue in a horse-drawn carriage) to discover the city in an unusual way, or the pop-up hotel accommodation DUPLEX ROOM that offers once more the opportunity to spend an unforgettable night in the gardens of the Lausanne History Museum.And finally, don’t forget to meet up with your friends in the Bô Noël pop-up restaurants and bars for fun and friendly nights - Lausanne style!
