A little paradise in the Vaudois Alps: nestled in a basin on the south face of the Palette, Lake Retaud reflects the blue sky and dark pines in its crystal water.
This idyllic spot near the Col du Pillon is a very popular place to visit. It's a 30-minute walk to the lake from the Col for those who fancy a stroll. For serious hikers, there are longer trails from Les Diablerets passing through the magnificent landscape of this Pre-alp region. You can take in the peaks of Scex Rouge, Nägelihorn and Oldenhorn and Les Diablerets glacier.
- in winter: access by car or bus to the Col du Pillon then follow the marked trail (snowshoes or snow hiking) from the Col du Pillon (itinerary Col du Pillon- Isenau or le Rard)

By car, parking near the lake, take the small mountain road near the Col du Pillon
By public transport: regular bus to the Col du Pillon or the Diablobus which runs in July and August from Les Diablerets to the lake (8 trips per day).
