A short, easy sunny loop at the foot of the Chasseron, one of the best-known peaks in the Jura, offering skiers a unique view of the Alps, from Säntis to Mont-Blanc.
At the foot of Chasseron, the Les Rasses–Les Cluds cross-country skiing trail offers skiers a unique view of the Alps. A real panoramic terrace inviting skiing enthusiasts on a discovery of snow-covered wide-open spaces, by day or night.
The start of this route is by the car park for the Sainte-Croix/Les Rasses ski lifts, next to the Nordic Centre of the Les Rasses Cross-country Skiing Association (Groupement des skieurs de fond des Rasses) and the Restaurant Les Planets. The easy trail takes you along a sunny, protected terrace at the foot of the Chasseron, through typical Jura snow-covered pastures towards Les Cluds, the halfway point, where you can stop and refuel at the Restaurant des Cluds. Enjoy the authentic setting of this restaurant and sample the specialities on offer made from local produce.
On the return trip, as the sun sets, it’s not unusual to encounter some of the wildlife of the surrounding forests. Once it’s dark, night cross-country skiing is an experience not to be missed.
