This itinerary lets cyclists discover the region’s typical sceneries: the lake, the vineyards, the countryside and the Jura foothills.
After leaving Morges on the small roads, you will quickly reach the vineyard above Lake Geneva, between Denens and Vufflens-le-Château boasting an impressive medieval castle. Cycling along country lanes, you will pass by Vuillerens Castle and its gardens that are reputed for its irises, before tackling the ascent through the villages until you reach the Jura foothills.
In Cuarnens you will see the river Venoge dear to Lake Geneva Region poet J. Villard-Gilles. Its source is in L'Isle. Following the trail through the villages built right up against the mountains as well as along the Jura pastures, you will reach the summit of your itinerary in Montricher (750 m), where you can admire the mountains from the Dents-du-Midi to the Mont-Blanc.
In Ballens, start your descent through the forest down to Saint-Livres where you will have an astounding view of the lake, the vineyards, and the village of Aubonne. This same countryside, which features fruit trees and fields, will accompany you through the villages of Lavigny, Etoy and Saint-Prex where you may want to stop briefly to admire the pretty, medieval town centre.
