Description - Fondue and snowshoes at the Refuge de Solalex
After picking up your snowshoes at the Villars Ski School (optional), set off along snowy trails through breathtaking natural scenery. From the Cergnement parking, an easy hike immerses you in the magic of authentic winter landscapes. At the end of this gentle excursion, the Refuge de Solalex welcomes you with an award-winning fondue, for a warm and indulgent moment in the heart of the mountains.
The Solalex alpage, nestled in the heart of a majestic and silent valley, can be discovered along a trail that offers moments suspended in untouched nature. At nightfall, the Refuge - the only light for miles around - guides your final steps. Once you arrive, the warm atmosphere of the mountains welcomes you to savour authentic local cuisine in a unique setting.
On the menu: Planchette du Refuge, Fondue Moitié-moitié, meringue double cream
The ride is easy and takes around 2 hours round trip from the Cergnement car park. For the evening service, you can book a snowmobile for your return to the Cergnement car park at the end of the meal. You can also make the return journey on snowshoes. Please note that the return journey is exclusively by snowshoe for the lunch service.
Please note: The Refuge de Solalex is not accessible by car. Please leave your car at the Cergnement car park and continue on foot to the Refuge (approximately 50 minutes' walk). To get to the Refuge, you can either follow the snow-covered main road from start to finish, or take the snowshoe trail halfway through the forest (more adventurous !).
- Upon arrival at the Refuge de Solalex, it is possible to inform the staff that you wish to return to the Cergnement parking lot by snowmobile. Not included in the price : CHF 6.00 per ride (only in the evening)
- Paid parking in Cergnement.
- We also ask you to respect the chosen arrival time. (Taking into account that it takes between 50 min and 1 hour from the parking of Cergnement)
If the reservation is cancelled, modified or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
For evening bookings at Solalex, please collect your snowshoes from the Villars Ski School before 5.30pm. Please note that the shop will be closed after this time. Please return your snowshoes to the shop by 11am the next day at the latest.

Time
The selected time corresponds to your arrival at the hut. Therefore, please take into account the time you need to get to the hut with snowshoes.
12:00: Arrival between 12:00 and 12:30 (table must be vacated by 13:30)
13:30: Arrival between 13:30 and 14:00
18:00: Arrival between 18:00 and 18:30 (table must be vacated by 20:00)
20:00: Arrival between 20:00 and 20:30 (refuge closes at 23:30)
